Balancer Lite – Optimize 3D Models
Atangeo came up with the Balancer application for all the users out there who need an affordable, user friendly, and efficient tool to optimize 3D models. What we have here is a properly good tool that allows you to access powerful polygon reduction technology.
Balancer is available for the two major desktop operating systems out there: Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X. Installing the application on a Windows-powered machine is a very simple process that goes like this: download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard that shows up. It will take little time to complete the installation and it will require a minimum amount of effort on your part.
The Balancer interface is divided into several panes. You have the Simplification, Workspace, Properties, and Log panes laid out around a main pane that presents the 3D model you’re working on. In the upper left hand corner, where it is usually placed, you will find a traditional File Menu. From View you can choose what elements to be displayed on the application’s interface and from Tools -> Preferences -> Display, you can change the colors used by the application.
Balancer’s purpose is to help you optimize and simplify 3D models and it does this by using powerful polygon reduction technology. It uses this tech to quickly and easily simplify 3D models while preserving the model’s visual appearance.
There are several Balancer editions to choose from. The Lite edition which is offered for free works with small meshes only (the limit for a single mesh is 15,000 triangles).
Balancer provides a very efficient means of optimizing 3D models.
Pros
Balancer is available for Windows and Mac. You can load and play with a sample; you can check out more examples on the application’s official website. With Balancer, you get powerful polygon reduction technology that you can use to optimize 3D Models. There are several Balancer editions to choose from – the Lite one is free.
Cons
Balancer Lite only works with small meshes.
